There has been a bereavement in the family recently, so I’ve been taking some quiet time away from filming to rest and be with loved ones. I’m easing back into the studio very gently, and today felt like the right moment for a calm sketchbook session.
In this video I’m comparing my Kuretake Sumi watercolours with the Kuretake Graphite Colours by painting a couple of simple abstract landscapes in my sketchbook. There’s some light swatching, soft colour testing, and then slow, peaceful pages coming together.
Nothing too complicated – just quiet company, muted winter tones, and a bit of low-pressure creativity. If you’re also feeling tired or a little overwhelmed, I hope this gives you a few gentle minutes to breathe and maybe sketch along.
