‘It will never rain roses: when we want to have more roses we must plant more trees.’
George Eliot
It’s Saturday morning and I’ve woken up to the prospect of more rain. I love the rain, especially if you are inside, the sound of the pitter patter on the window panes, the feeling of being safe inside or even better under the duvet with a cup of tea. However, for me and for many I am sure, I am ready for some spring sunshine. To walk outside and listen to the birds, maybe potter in the garden and feel the warmth of the sun on my face, so for all of you who are feeling a bit fed up with the constant deluge of rain I thought I’d share something a bit different.
I can’t bring you roses today, but I can bring you a short film of me creating a happy sunflower, using soft oil pastels and pastel pencils in my sketchbook. The two mediums really don’t go well together, but it’s good to experiment and play and that’s what a sketchbook is all about, creating art and having fun, so whilst the rain threatens to fall outside, sit back and relax, think of sunshine and sunflowers for just a minute.
I hope you enjoy me sharing something a bit different.
Happy weekend. 🧚🏻🌻
Keep shining your light bright, spring is on its way.
Stay naturally curious…
