Just One by Laura Mucha
One more mountain, just the one,
one more trip away
With Mum, one more apple rhubarb pie,
One more amber-lilac sky.
One more chocolate - plain and dark,
A peacock and a national park,
Artic iceberg, Shetland sheep,
And one more really good night’s sleep. One more day of
Blazing heat,
One more friend I’d like to meet,
One more bike ride, one more hike, I’d talk to every bird
And bee,
I’d soak them up, I’d set them free
With paint, with words, perhaps a song.
Life is short and life is long,
So quickly please, before it’s gone,
Just one more poem. 1
June has arrived, summer is here and the first full moon of summer will be visible late on the 3rd of June through to the 4th of June here in the UK, clear skies permitting, but having said that we have experienced the most glorious spring sunshine so far. This full moon is called the strawberry moon and has also been referred to as the rose moon, honey moon and mead moon. In June the strawberries ripen under the hot sun and are ready for harvest. A treat that I am looking forward to, there is nothing better than picking warm strawberries straight from the plant, that’s if the birds leave me some, but I am happy to share as they bring me so much joy.
In Europe, the June full moon is sometimes called the honey moon as June was named after the Roman Goddess of marriage, Juno, which could be where the term “honeymoon” originated from. 2
Wherever you are in the world take some time to pause, maybe go outside to where it’s dark and look up. It’s the perfect time to remember how far you have come this year, to express gratitude and set your intentions for the second half of the year.
I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone this year, sharing my art, my writing and my thoughts. I have even set up my own YouTube channel. Please head over and take a look. You’ll find me under Purple Ladybird Art. It’s easy to find the negative stuff in this ‘upside down world’, we all have our struggles, but my intention is to share with you the beauty that still surrounds us. The simple things, such as the birdsong, the bees collecting pollen from newly opened flowers, the multi-coloured butterflies, the way the light shines through the tree-tops, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore or just the trickling of water from a woodland stream. If we could just pause, take five minutes out of our day to practise self-care. So, grab a cup of tea, find a quiet spot and head over to YouTube where you’ll find out what I’ve been up to this week and what has inspired me to create art.
I hope you manage to get outside and enjoy what nature has to offer. Give yourself permission to explore, June has arrived and it’s blooming lovely!
Stay naturally curious…

It’s so important to see all that is good in this world and it rebalances all that’s challenging. Once again you’ve created escapism in the words and photos you’ve shared Clare. Thank you for investing your time in giving back 🙏🙏
